I don't know who needs to hear this, but buying maternity clothes annoyed me.
Spending hundreds of dollars on a wardrobe I'd wear for a few months felt ridiculous. I kept trying to squeeze into my regular clothes for way longer than I should have before finally admitting defeat.
Once I finally gave myself permission to buy maternity clothes, I became determined not to overspend. After two pregnancies (including a twin pregnancy), I found a handful of affordable pieces I reached for constantly.
Fair warning: these definitely lean more "athleisure" than office attire, but I happily wore them to Target about 700 times.
These are the affordable maternity basics I'd actually buy again.
My Favorite Affordable Maternity Basics

Affordable Maternity Leggings
A good pair of maternity leggings is worth every penny. Once my regular leggings started feeling more like a torture device than clothing, I wore maternity leggings almost daily. They're comfortable, supportive, and incredibly easy to style, making them one of the hardest-working pieces in any maternity wardrobe.
My favorite: Destination Maternity Leggings from Walmart ($19.63)
Why I love them: They are super supportive, breathable, and have nice, deep pockets. They have a good size range from S-3XL. I personally have one in each color. Heads up, though: they do look more athletic than "dressy". It's still possible to dress them up with an oversized sweater or long t-shirt, but there might be better options if you're looking for leggings for work specifically.

Affordable Maternity Tops
I probably wore maternity t-shirts more than anything else during pregnancy. They were comfortable enough to wear around the house but easy to dress up with a pair of jeans, a cardigan, or a denim jacket when I needed to leave the house. If you're trying to build a maternity wardrobe on a budget, I'd recommend choosing versatile basics you'll actually reach for over and over again.
My favorite short-sleeve: Destination Maternity Pocket T-Shirt from Walmart ($7.95)
Why I love them: I love that these are breathable. Most maternity clothing is TIGHT, and I liked that these look much more casual and are flowy, while still covering the bump. I have one in each color!

My favorite long-sleeve: Classic Side-Ruched Long Sleeve 3-Pack from Amazon for $38.99.
Why I love them: The price point just can't be beat, and they are super comfortable. There are several color/print combinations to choose from as well.

Affordable Maternity Jeans
I'll be honest—I held off on buying maternity jeans for way too long because I couldn't justify spending money on something I'd only wear for a few months. Once I finally gave in, though, I wished I'd bought them sooner. A comfortable pair of maternity jeans can make getting dressed feel so much easier when you want to look a little more put together without sacrificing comfort.
My favorite(s): Any pair from Pink Blush, but especially this Medium Wash Straight Legged pair.
Why I love them: These are quality denim jeans. They are a little more on the costly side compared to the other products I am listing, but Pink Blush almost always has some sort of 25-40% coupon available. They are extremely comfortable and durable. I personally like over the belly pants like these, but Pink Blush has tons of options. They also have so many options regarding cut, wash, and style.

Affordable Maternity Dresses
If you're pregnant during the spring or summer, don't skip the maternity dresses. They're one of the easiest outfits you can throw on when you want to feel comfortable without looking like you rolled out of bed. Whether you're heading to a baby shower, running errands, or just trying to survive the heat, a few comfortable dresses go a long way.
My favorite: Destination Maternity Ruched Bodycon with Short Sleeves from Walmart ($17.98)
Why I love them: There are several color options available. I like that they have string-tied ruches so you can adjust the length of the dress. These dresses have also grown with me and have made my bump look so cute, no matter what size it was.

Affordable Maternity Biker Shorts
I really thought I could make my regular biker shorts work. Spoiler alert: I could not. They were way too tight over my growing bump and became uncomfortable fast. A good pair of maternity biker shorts was so much more supportive and made surviving a summer pregnancy a whole lot easier.
My favorite: Over The Belly Maternity Shorts from Amazon - 3 Pack from Amazon ($32.99)
Why I love them: I think the price point is great, but they also are SOOO comfy! These are buttery soft and I could wear them all day, every day. There are tons of color combinations available as well.
My Final Thoughts On Affordable Maternity Clothes
Pregnancy is already expensive enough. You don't need a $300 maternity wardrobe to feel comfortable.
These were the pieces I genuinely wore over and over, and if I found out tomorrow I was pregnant again (let's not manifest that), these are the first things I'd buy.
