After surviving the newborn stage with twins, I was completely traumatized by the lack of sleep.

Because of that, I knew I wanted to invest in a good bassinet for Camden. But my version of "investing" is having champagne taste on a Miller Lite budget.

As much as I knew the Snoo was an incredible option, I just couldn't justify spending that kind of money on a product that would only be used for a few short months. I looked on Facebook Marketplace, but I was nervous about buying a used smart bassinet with no warranty backing the purchase.

I even briefly considered the Cradlewise because of its longer lifespan, but ultimately it was just too expensive for our family.

After doing an embarrassing amount of research, my final contenders came down to the Halo BassiNest Connected Swivel Sleeper 3.0 and the MamaRoo Sleep Bassinet.

Both are similarly priced and offer many of the same features, but there were a few things that made the Halo my final choice.

After using it every single night for the first four months of Camden's life, here's my honest review—including all of the pros and cons.

What I Loved About the Halo BassiNest Connected Swivel Sleeper

1. The Swaying Motion

The side-to-side swaying motion is very similar to the Snoo's movement, and it consistently helped Camden fall asleep. Of all the smart bassinets I researched, I preferred the swaying motion over a traditional rocking motion.

2. The Vibration Feature

Cam absolutely loved the vibration feature, especially when he was overtired or overstimulated. It often helped calm him when nothing else seemed to work.

3. The Fold-Down Side

This feature is seriously underrated, especially if you've had a C-section like I did.

During those early postpartum weeks, the fold-down side made nighttime soothing so much easier. Even after I healed, I still used it nightly to comfort Cam without fully picking him up.

4. The 360-Degree Swivel

Our bedroom is narrow, so space beside the bed is limited. The legs slid easily underneath our bed frame, and the swivel feature made getting in and out of bed much easier.

5. The Customizable Settings

One of my favorite features was being able to create a soothing profile specifically for Camden.

His ideal setup ended up being high swaying, low vibration, and loud brown noise. I loved how customizable everything was.

What I Didn't Love

1. The Rocking Noise

There was occasionally a noticeable rocking noise, especially if Camden wasn't perfectly centered in the bassinet.

I reached out to Halo customer service, and they confirmed this is a known issue with some bassinets.

They offered either a replacement bassinet top or a $200 gift card. Since there was no guarantee the replacement wouldn't have the same issue, I opted for the gift card.

2. It's Heavy

This bassinet is incredibly sturdy, but it is also heavy. You're not going to be easily moving it from room to room.

3. The App Can Be Glitchy

The app occasionally felt a little wonky. Thankfully, most functions can also be controlled directly on the bassinet itself, which is what I ended up doing most of the time.

4. The Night Light Is Practically Useless

The built-in night light barely qualifies as a night light. It's extremely dim and mostly shines on the floor.

As someone who spent countless middle-of-the-night feeding sessions awake in the dark, I would love to see Halo improve this feature in future models.

Who I Think This Bassinet Is Best For

I think the Halo BassiNest Connected Swivel Sleeper 3.0 is a great option for parents who:

  • Want smart bassinet features without paying Snoo prices.

  • Are recovering from a C-section.

  • Have limited bedroom space.

  • Want highly customizable soothing settings.

Final Thoughts: Would I Buy the Halo BassiNest Connected Swivel Sleeper 3.0 Again?

Yes—I absolutely would.

The occasional rocking noise was frustrating, but overall, the pros far outweighed the cons for our family.

If you're looking for a smart bassinet that falls somewhere between a traditional bassinet and the Snoo, I think the Halo BassiNest Connected Swivel Sleeper 3.0 offers a lot of value for the price.
